The 10 most beautiful fishing spots

Some of the most beautiful fishing spots in Austria can be found around the Hotel Bräurup. Our own area and many other quiet spots invite you to go fishing in the Pinzgau. We can particularly recommend the following places:

The Salzach

Fly only.
Medium river 15 – 20 m wide with medium to strong current, partly steep bank, partly difficult to walk – fishing is done in the bank area or at the confluences of the small meadow streams and larger streams, such as Felberbach.

Season: Year-round, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The Finnish Lake

Fly only.
Natural lake with about 10 – 15 ha, shore not overgrown.

Season: May 1 to September 30, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The back lake

Fly only.
Natural lake about 5 ha with shallow but marshy shore area.

Season: May 1 to September 30, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The Trattenbach

Fly only.
Small mountain stream with small to medium sized pools – easy to walk on.

Season: May 1 to September 30, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The blue lake

Only fly.
Small spring water lake about 700 m2, always clear water – is not connected with Obersulzbach.

Season: Year-round, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The stubach

Fly only.
Medium meadow river about 10 – 15 m wide with very deep pools in places – easy to walk.

Season: Year-round, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The Hollersbach

Fly only.
Medium mountain stream with medium to large pools – easy to walk except for gorge at head of valley.

Season: Year-round, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The Hollersbach Reservoir

Mixed water
Reservoir with approx. 3.5 ha water surface relatively densely overgrown – ideal for belly boat fishing – dam and inlet only for fly fishers – left side closed area – right side mixed fishable.

Season: Year-round, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The Felberbach

Fly only.
Medium mountain stream about 6 – 12 m wide, with medium to large pools – difficult to walk on (high banks) – fish are usually all along the bank.

Season: May 1 to September 30, closed season wading ban from October to May.

The Krimml Ache

Fly only.
Natural approx. 15 km long, 10-20 meter wide river with meadow river character, but also short sections in mountain stream style -above the Krimml Waterfalls.

Season: May 1 to September 30, closed season wading ban from October to May.
