Relaxation and enjoyment are included in the hiking tours in Mittersill. The best example of this is the approx. 6km long circular Sonnenrundweg, which gives you a particularly beautiful, unforgettable view of the city. From the hotel you need to go into the city to the Volksbank, and then take hiking trail 71A towards Unterwimm. After a seamless transition to hiking trail 63, turn left towards Rettenbach. On clear, sunny days, the panoramic view of Mittersill and the Hohe Tauern is particularly beautiful. You get back to the hotel via Achleiten.

The Mittersill National Park Center is the starting point for a long and physically demanding hike. In the direction of Schattseite and via hiking trail 56 or 56A, turn onto hiking trail 12 and reach the center of Hollersbach. Go north over the Salzach Bridge and you will reach hiking trail 11 and finally hiking trail 13. You have now reached the sunny side of the Kitzbühel Alps where you will find an abundance of beautiful nature and a magnificent mountain panorama. The Felbertaler high mountain lakes
The various hiking trails in Mittersill also bring some challenges with them. The circular hiking trail to the high mountain lakes of the Felbertal is suitable for experienced hikers. Let the free hiking shuttle take you to the Hintersee car park and take a walk from there to the lake. Via the Trudental you can take hiking trail 917 to the Naßfeld, cross the Tauernbach, and after 2.5-3 hours you will reach the Plattachsee. If you still have enough energy in your tank, you can extend the tour towards Tauernsee. In dry weather we recommend the descent via the Trassensteig to get back to the starting point – be careful, it is slippery when wet!

Krimml Waterfall Path
Time for a short excursion to one of the most beautiful natural monuments in Central Europe: the hiking taxi takes you to the tourist office in Krimml. Here the tour begins on the road towards WasserWelten and on to the waterfall ticket office. At the lowest level you can literally feel the power of the water. The viewing path now becomes a little steeper and leads to the topmost waterfall level. At the various viewing platforms you can enjoy the panoramic view of the roaring water. Over the Schettbrücke you reach the highest point before, shortly before the Annatunnel, left over the Alten Tauernweg back to the starting point. Attention, the way back requires surefootedness!

In addition to some steep mountain tours, there are also some leisurely hiking trails through Mittersill. This includes the route along the Amerbach, which should especially inspire nature lovers. Once you’ve discovered the somewhat hidden entrance to the right of the Felbertal portal, you’re ready to go. Keep to the north in the direction of Ödalm, past the Taimer Alm to the Elisabethsee. Magnificent flora and fauna accompany you on your way. In the Elisabethsee you can take a refreshing bath in the clear, cold water, and afterwards go to a pagan church. This protected natural monument protrudes from a landslide debris field. According to legend, anyone who squeezes through the extremely narrow gap should cast off all evil and all diseases.
