The venerable castle was built in its original form as early as 1150 and was rebuilt in 1528 after severe damage. Today there is a fine promenade from the center of the village. Via the Schettbühel and the old pass road you reach the hiking trail, cross the Pass-Thurn-Bundesstraße and after a very short time you will reach the castle. A tour with coffee and cake in the panorama restaurant is recommended before returning on the scenic path.

Felberturm circuit

One of the most attractive walks through Mittersill leads to the oldest secular building in the entire Oberpinzgau. The Felberturm museum with Felberkirche and Felberturm can be dated to the middle of the 12th century. The leisurely, beautifully landscaped path leads from the town square over the Felberbach straight ahead to the church and the museum behind it. After an inspiring tour, walk back via Stampferau.

Schloss-Lambach circuit

The Felberturm Museum is also the starting point for the last tip for a walk. Past the Felberkirche, you pass the Kinderhotel Felben towards the edge of the forest. Follow the gravel road to the left and after the Mittersill heating plant you will reach Wilhelmsdorf in Stuhlfelden. Lambach Castle, which looks like a late Gothic farmhouse with noble undertones, rises in front of you. About way. No. 10 is back to the museum in half an hour.
