Tourers appreciate the diversity of the Kitzbühel winter sports region. Ascents and descents of all levels of difficulty welcome beginners and pose many challenges even to professionals – and all of this in the immediate vicinity of Bräurup. The ski tour on the Hahnenkamm is particularly popular, because the popular Asten run is open for ascent every day until 10 p.m. in winter.

About the ski tour near Mittersill

While skiers and snowboarders wiggle down grippy slopes during the day and feel like World Cup professionals in the steep passages, the route goes from the Streifalm to the Hocheckhütte, where the Hochkitzbühel restaurant welcomes hungry tourers on Friday evening. So that there are no dangerous situations when touring Kitzbühel, only a few snow groomers are in use until 10 p.m. The drivers are of course considerate – the advantage of an official tour.

Conquer the Hahnenkamm via Asten

The well-developed Asten run with natural snow leads over 828 meters in altitude in about two hours and is intended for more advanced tourers with mountain experience and good fitness. The ascent is not too demanding in itself, but it can be quite a drag. Those who like it a bit more challenging can take the alternative route on the last section below the Hahnenkammbahn and dedicate themselves to the tricky ascent to the Hocheckhütte. The view of the illuminated Kitzbühel at night is fantastic, and you can return to the descent via the same path. It can get a bit steeper here. Those who prefer to take it easy can tour on Friday evening when the Hahnenkammbahn runs between mountain and valley until 11 p.m.
