Autumn Beer as a Comforting and Palatable Indulgence

The days are getting shorter, fog and moisture are in the air, and the first frost is on its way: Autumn brings tranquility after a hot, lively summer, awakening the desire for warmth and coziness. This is reflected, among other things, in the cuisine, which is noticeably richer and more substantial. Of course, the drinks also adapt to the new circumstances: A good autumn beer underscores the change of seasons in a delicious, invigorating way. The perfect beer for autumn is, of course, also brewed in our brewery in Mittersill.

What characterizes a typical autumn beer?

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then beer taste is… The beery variety knows how to delight every palate, and so there is not just one single autumn beer, but a wealth of flavor worlds that know how to flatter all preferences. Accordingly, the autumnal beer enjoyment is broadly positioned. Among other things, the following factors resonate:

• Alcohol content: High-proof beverages provide warmth during the transitional season. Some autumn beers achieve their character solely through their alcohol content, such as the classic Urbock.
• Scent: Bitter hops, earthy tones, a hint of harvest and late autumn: The craft beer trend has opened up exciting autumnal scent worlds in recent years.
• Mildness: Of course, the autumn trend also goes in the other direction. Mild beers improve well-being and relax.
• Longing: Perhaps missing summer after all? Yearning for the last vacation? Fruity beers are currently on the rise in autumn. Spicy flavor notes also underscore the here and now.

In unserer hauseigenen Bräurup-Brauerei zieht der Herbst natürlich auch nicht einfach so vorüber. Das Herbstbier hat bei uns längst Tradition und wird Jahr für Jahr zelebriert, wenn die Nächte länger und das Laub bunter werden. Auch heuer präsentieren wir unseren edlen, süffigen Tropfen pünktlich zum Mittersiller Strudelfest. Strudel – gerade etwas pikanter – und Bier, das passt einfach!
