Autumn Walks through Mittersill
Colorful leaves dance from the thinning trees and settle on the meadows and paths of the world. Autumn has long since arrived, and winter is already casting its shadows. This magical natural spectacle, this change of seasons, wants to be experienced in all its splendor and diversity on a delightful walk, to be savored. The following three walking paths through Mittersill are enchanting – and not just in autumn.
Mittersill Castle Loop

The venerable castle originated in its primal form as early as 1150 and was rebuilt in 1528 after severe damage. Today, a pleasant walking path leads there from the town center. Via Schettbühel and the old Passstraße, you reach the hiking trail, cross the Pass-Thurn-Bundesstraße, and arrive at the castle in no time. A tour with coffee and cake in the panoramic restaurant is recommended here before returning along the scenic path.
Felberturm Loop
One of the most attractive walking paths through Mittersill leads to the oldest secular building in the entire Oberpinzgau. The Felberturm Museum with Felberkirche and Felberturm can be dated back to the mid-12th century. The comfortable, scenically beautiful path leads from the town square over the Felberbach straight to the church and the museum behind it. After an inspiring tour, you walk back via Stampferau.
Lambach Castle Loop
The Felberturm Museum is also the starting point for the last walking tip. Passing the Felberkirche, you pass the Kinderhotel Felben towards the edge of the forest. You follow the gravel road to the left and reach Mittersill Wilhelmsdorf in Stuhlfelden after the heating plant. Lambach Castle, which resembles a late Gothic farmhouse with noble undertones, already rises before you. Via path no. 10, it takes half an hour back to the museum.
