Our Brewing Tradition
Our brewery, located right next to the Hotel Bräurup, is deeply rooted in the beer brewing tradition that dates back to 1681. Since 2006, we have been reviving this tradition by brewing our own unfiltered, cellar-cloudy Märzen beer and our yeast-cloudy wheat beer. The combination of state-of-the-art technology and a large portion of love for brewing guarantees a taste experience that you will not soon forget.
The Story behind the Beer
The history of our brewery is closely linked to the origin of the name Bräurup. Our great-great-great-grandfather Rupert Schwaiger acquired the brewery in 1823 and led it to new heights thanks to his excellent beer. Soon the Bräu Rup, as it was affectionately called, became known in Pinzgau and beyond. Today we continue this tradition and brew our two main beers, supplemented by seasonal specialties, primarily for our guest business.
Your Beer Sommelier
Matthias Gassner, head of the house and our beer sommelier, is the head behind our beers. With his comprehensive expert knowledge, he ensures that every sip in our beer hotel is a delight. Whether cooked or served with certain dishes, every beer on our menu has been hand-picked by him.
