All about the stream
The waters of the Hollersbachtal valley and the Mittersill region magically attract animals and plants. They act as a home, a nesting ground, and a food source, keeping the ecosystem in balance. This approximately three-and-a-half-hour hike is dedicated to them, stretching over 11.6 km and 334 meters in altitude with medium difficulty through the valley, with the parking lot as the starting and finishing point. Along the path, there are twelve display boards that deal with birds, insects, fish, and plants, introduce the special features of the ravine forest, and provide information about the magnificent alder population. The destination is the Senningerbräualm at 1,132 m. A short stop for refreshments is always a good idea.
Stream trail in Hollersbach with extensions
At the managed alpine pasture, you turn around and head back to the Hollersbachtal parking lot via the stream trail. If you still feel like more hiking fun and have some stamina, you will find one or two extension options. The detour at the end of the valley towards Neue Fürtherhütte is particularly popular. However, this is an alpine tour that requires appropriate mountain experience. Alternatively, head for the Hollidee leisure center. Here you will find a magnificent natural bathing lake that offers valuable cooling. Kids are magically attracted by the eco-pond and the adventure playground.
