Glorious weather, splendid sunshine with only a few clouds, hardly any wind, and pleasant temperatures – these are the perfect conditions for an extensive motorcycle tour in Pinzgau. Around our Hotel Bräurup in the Hohe Tauern National Park region, you’ll find a wealth of panoramic roads and excursion destinations that will delight passionate bikers. We have selected two personal favorites for you in the immediate vicinity.
Scenic Drive on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road
With its 48 meandering kilometers, numerous bends, and magnificent views, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is one of Europe’s most beautiful panoramic roads. Kilometer marker 0 on the Salzburg side is in Bruck, about half an hour from Bräurup. On the way from Fusch-Ferleiten to Heiligenblut on the Carinthian side, you’ll stop at spectacular viewing platforms, with the visitor center including the observation tower at Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe as the undisputed highlight. Rides on the panoramic road cost €27 for motorcycles. With the National Park Summer Card, which you receive free of charge as a Bräurup guest, a High Alpine Road day ticket is included per stay.
Motorcycle Tour Over the Hochkönig
The Hochkönig is widely regarded as a peak experience. Anyone who has crossed this mighty mountain massif by motorcycle will understand this perfectly. The round trip offers a short (approx. 110 km) and an extended (approx. 220 km) option around Kaprun, which is 25 minutes away. You’ll drive through Saalfelden, the three Hochkönig communities of Maria Alm, Dienten, and Mühlbach, as well as Bischofshofen, with detours into the Tennengau and to Bavaria during the longer ride. This easy, leisurely tour invites pure riding pleasure and full enjoyment of nature.
