Pumptrack riding is currently one of the biggest MTB trends. This special discipline improves riding skills and is now much more than just a small warm-up for big trails. Meanwhile, there’s even a dedicated race series for pumptrack riders, and it will be stopping near Bräurup on May 10th and 11th. The Red Bull Pump Track Qualifier in Mittersill will host the Austrian-wide qualification for the World Championship this autumn. A good reason to take a closer look at this spectacular sport!
No Pedaling Required
Anyone who wants to participate in the Red Bull Pump Track World Championship must truly master this sport. But what exactly is pumptrack riding? This special discipline unites mountain bikers of all types, whether Downhill, BMX, or Trail. The goal is to complete a course – the so-called pumptrack – without pedaling. Speed is generated solely by pumping the body (pumping). Waves, berms, and jumps form tricky obstacles and can only be mastered with practice.
