About the ski tour near Mittersill

While during the day skiers and snowboarders carve down grippy slopes and feel like World Cup pros in the steep sections, the route leads from Streifalm to Hocheckhütte, where on Friday evenings the Hochkitzbühel restaurant welcomes hungry ski tourers. To avoid dangerous situations during ski touring in Kitzbühel, only a few snow groomers are in use until 10 PM. The drivers are naturally considerate – the advantage of an official tour.

Conquer the Hahnenkamm via Asten

The well-developed Asten descent with natural snow covers approximately 828 vertical meters in about two hours and is intended for slightly more advanced ski tourers with mountain experience and good fitness. While the ascent itself is not overly demanding, it can be quite a stretch. Those who prefer a bit more of a challenge can take the alternative route on the last section below the Hahnenkammbahn and tackle the tricky ascent to Hocheckhütte. The view of nocturnal, illuminated Kitzbühel is breathtaking, and then it’s time to descend the same way back. Here, it can get a bit steeper. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can tour on Friday evening when the Hahnenkammbahn operates between the mountain and valley until 11 PM.
