Located in the heart of the vast Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region, Mittersill-Hollersbach-Stuhlfelden is a top destination for cyclists, mountain bikers and e-bikers. There is something for every taste with leisurely panorama trails, alpine pastures and sweaty mountain tours. The skilfully developed network of trails in the entire national park region now covers more than 1,000 km, but where is the best place to bike for beginners? Here are two tips for beginners for mountain biking in Mittersill, recommended by the house.

From Mittersill to the Felbertal

A real pleasure tour for the whole family leads through the region in around one and a half hours each way. It starts in the center of Mittersill. Here you take the route towards Felbertauern. On the right side of the Felbertauernstraße a partly paved, partly gravel path leads to Hintersee. After the Wolfram Bergwerk, turn right at the tunnel, after which there is a short, intense ascent with three hairpin bends. Hintersee is already spreading in front of you, including cozy resting places at the lake. A little stop at a hut is never wrong before you return to Mittersill on the same route.

From Mittersill to Uttendorf

The second variant is a little longer, at the same time more moderate, and also leads over long stretches of the Tauern Cycle Path. It starts right at the town square of Mittersill, then past the golf course and into the forest area. On the way to Uttendorf it can get a little wavy from time to time, but you can relax wonderfully at the local swimming lake. After a short stop, it goes back on the south side of the Salzach Valley with further wavy passages.
