Since When Has Beer Been Brewed at Bräurup?
The brewing tradition of Hotel Restaurant Brewery Bräurup dates back to 1681. Since 1823, our family has guided the destiny of the brewery. Beer was brewed on a large scale until 1917. In the aftermath of the war, it became increasingly difficult to obtain quality raw materials here in the mountains, and beer service was also regulated by the Emperor, making it impossible to operate the brewery economically. The brewing facilities, along with the contract taverns, were sold to the Kaltenhausen Brewery near Hallein. However, after an 89-year hiatus, beer has been brewed again at Hotel Restaurant Brewery Bräurup since 2006. Brewing tradition runs in our family’s genes, and we love providing our guests with our own brewed beer once more. Fresh from the brewery straight to the tap—this is how our unfiltered, naturally cloudy beers are served. Today, various beer specialties are created right here on-site, which you can enjoy fresh in the restaurant or take home as a souvenir.

Our brewhouse consists of a 3 hl brew kettle with lauter tun and whirlpool.
